Lisinopril may be taken with or without food. Your kidney function may also need to be checked. It’s possible to take lisinopril with food or on an empty stomach. This can lead to very low blood pressure, electrolyte abnormalities, or kidney failure. If you are going to have surgery, tell your doctor or dentist that you are taking lisinopril. Do not freeze the oral solution.

What should I avoid while taking Lisinopril tablets?

Drinking alcohol can increase the side effects of lisinopril (such as dizziness and stuffy nose) and increase the risk of low blood pressure (hypotension). Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. High levels of lisinopril in your blood can also cause you to become dehydrated, meaning you are less likely to sweat well, and you may feel cramps and tired in addition to your body temperature becoming lower. Avoid using potassium supplements or salt substitutes, unless your doctor has told you to. What are the possible side effects of Lisinopril HCTZ? Get emergency medical help if you have signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. People with certain allergies may have an increased risk of getting some of these symptoms.
